He is also a past-president of the Tampa Bay Inventors' Council. He is a member of the American Physical Society and has, at various times held membership in the Electrochemical Society, the American Metals Society, the American Institute of Mining, Metallurgical and Petroleum Engineers, and the Optical Society of America.
